MiNISTRY & staff Team

Lead Pastor: Josh Myers

Pastor Josh and his wife Valerie began their ministry in Tillamook in March 2019. Growing up a PK (pastors kid) he distinctly remembers telling God he would live his life to serve Him and do anything except for becoming a pastor. Following the tragic death of his best friend his senior year of high school his youth pastor and church were there to support him and the rest of the community. He saw the impact the church had on his life and the lives of his friends and knew in the depths of his soul God was calling him so that he could be used to impact lives in a similar fashion.

He received his Bachelors degree in Christian Ministry with a minor in Youth Ministry from Northwest Nazarene University in 2009 then received his Masters of Arts in Missional Leadership, also from NNU in 2011. He was Ordained as an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 2012. He has also done some studies and received some certificates in counseling over the years.

Pastor Josh + Valerie have 3 amazing kids. When him and his family are not in church he enjoys yard work, building and fixing things, working with his hands, hunting, hiking, sitting around a fire with friends and family and just about anything that involves food. Him and his wife are truly a strong team. Valerie is currently working on turning their home into a full on farm and they enjoy camping, outdoor activities and building deep meaningful relationships and friendships with people.

He really enjoys the book of James and feels like he resonates well with Paul along with the gospels, especially Matthew 5-7 and hearing the actual teachings of Jesus. Jeremiah 29:11 is a verse his mom used to pray over him and has become somewhat his life verse.

Worship Arts director: Remy pfeiffer

Remy has been attending Tillamook Nazarene since 2017 with her husband Josiah and their 3 children. Her husband grew up in in this church until he moved away at 18. He knew once he got married he would bring his own family back to Tillamook and attend the Nazarene and has been since!

Remy has always felt a calling in her life to love and lead others and when she dedicated everything to allowing God to use her in whichever way that may be, He made it very known that it would be in ministry. With her passion for singing and encouraging others she fell into the role of Worship Arts since September 2021. It’s very important to Remy that the church feels the Holy Spirit during worship where God is glorified in the way the worship team sets the atmosphere. Aiming to encourage the congregation to humble themselves before the Lord so that we all may find ourselves worshiping Him in all parts of our lives inside church walls and out in the world. Remy will be attending Nazarene Bible College within the next year to start off on the Elder track to receive Ministry Preparation Program.

She loves anything that allows her to be creative! Before working for the church she owned her own design company specializing in weddings with planning, designing, stationary, watercolor and calligraphy. She now designs our church graphics for events, website, slides, socials and calligraphy for certificates. When not at church Remy loves to spend quality time with her family camping, sporting events, hosting and cooking for friends and family.

Remy holds close to all of Roman 12 striving to apply and encourage it to her marriage, parenting, ministry and friendship with others.

Children’s Pastor: kelsey middleton

Kelsey grew up in Tillamook Nazarene for 11 years as a kid, and has been on staff working here since February 2022. Her call to ministry was not anything audible. She was unhappy with what she was doing and when she switched her major to ministry at NNU she felt a physical lift from her shoulders and that's how she knew she was making the right decision. Kelsey graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with a degree in Youth Ministry in 2021 and also has her district license on the ORPAC district.

She comes from a pastors family and has one sister that is also studying to be a worship pastor and very close to her family, in fact she considers all of them to be her best friends! Kelsey also enjoys hiking, dancing, and hanging with friends and family!

The verse the really resonates with her in this season of life is John 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

Mark and Kristen Laymon and their two kids have been coming to Tillamook Church of the Nazarene since 2021. Mark has a passion to discover and nurture what God is doing in the hearts and lives of the teens in Tillamook County. Using the multiple weekly teen get togethers and services to be a springboard for encouraging a lifestyle of discipleship is his passion.

Mark will be attending Nazarene Bible College within the next year to start off on the Elder track to receive Ministry Preparation Program.
